The General Secretariat of the ALADI participated, for the eighth consecutive year, in the Andean Business Meeting, held on 8 and 9 May of this year, at Campo Ferial Chuquiago Marka, in the city of La Paz, Bolivia.
The Eighth Andean Business Meeting was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Diego Pary Rodríguez, and counted on the presence of the Secretary-General of the Andean Community (CAN), Jorge Hernando Pedraza, the President of the Confederation of Bolivian Private Entrepreneurs, Luis Barbery, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade and Integration, Benjamín Blanco, and the Director-General of the CAN, Clarems Endara Vera.
Entities for the trade promotion of the member countries of the Andean Community: the Vice-Minister of Foreign Trade and Integration of Bolivia, PROCOLOMBIA, PROECUADOR, PROMPERÚ, and the General Secretariat of the CAN, organizers of this event informed that this macro-round reached: business intentions by 22 million dollars, the participation of 260 exporting and buying companies of the countries of the Andean Community, of the European Union, and the United Kingdom, and there were 1,257 business meetings.
The participation of the ALADI in the event is a token of interinstitutional cooperation between the General Secretariats of the ALADI and the Andean Community.
The occasion was favorable for providing the companies participating in the event with personal technical support in the institutional stand of the ALADI, about the mechanisms and instruments of the ALADI, the tools and support service to entrepreneurs, as well as the use of virtual services offered through their web sites.
Likewise, it was very important since information about the sixth edition of the “EXPO ALADI – Colombia 2019. Multisectoral Business Macro-round” was delivered. Such Macro-round will take place on 16 to 18 October of this year, in the city of Bucaramanga, Colombia.
The organizers of the event informed that the next Andean Business Meeting will be held in Ecuador.
